Not eligible for shipping to CanadaConceived in a dream (yes, really!) by founder Mary Keehn and inspired by the fog that rolls over Humboldt County’s coast, this masterpiece paved the way for soft-ripened goat cheese in America. Each handcrafted wheel features a distinctive ribbon of edible vegetable ash. You’ll enjoy buttermilk and fresh cream, complemented with floral notes, herbaceous overtones, and a clean citrus finish. As Humboldt Fog matures, the creamline develops and the flavor intensifies.
Back in the late 1970s, Mary Keehn, a self-proclaimed “serious hippie” and single mother of four, purchased two goats from a Humboldt County neighbor as a source of fresh milk. She soon had more milk than she could handle, so she tried her hand at making goat cheese, and in 1983 Cypress Grove was born. Since those humble beginnings, Cypress Grove has gone on to become one of the most famous and award-winning cheese producers in America. Their dairy is Humane Certified, and their lineup of tangy fresh cheeses, bloomy masterpieces, and nutty aged cheeses are all hand-crafted the old-fashioned way. These are some of the most delicious and creative goat cheeses ever made, and they’re shipping nationwide!

Humboldt County’s Legendary Cheesemaker
Humboldt County’s Legendary Cheesemaker

Back in the 1970s, the term “American cheese” referred to, well, American cheese. But all that began to change when Mary Keehn, a self-proclaimed “serious hippie” and single mother of four, purchased two goats from a Humboldt County neighbor as a source of fresh milk.
From their legendary Humboldt Fog (which has a line of ash running through it, inspired by the fog blanketing the Humboldt County coastline) to their bloomy-rind, truffle-laced Truffle Tremor to their fennel & lavender-coated Purple Haze, these are some of the most delicious and creative goat cheeses ever crafted, and they’re shipping nationwide!
