It all began when Crank & Boom founders Toa and Mike Green were looking for a creative dessert to serve in their family’s Thai restaurant. They purchased an ice cream machine and churned the first batch of what would eventually become Kentucky’s best small-batch ice cream. Named "Best Ice Cream in Kentucky’’ by Travel & Leisure, Crank & Boom has been making ice cream flavors with locally-sourced ingredients at their Lexington, Kentucky, “ice cream lounge” since 2015. The couple makes flavors like Bourbon Honey, Blackberry Buttermilk, Coffee Stout, and Blueberry Lime Cheesecake—decadent flavors that incorporate the bounty of Kentucky’s farms, breweries, and distilleries.
This package includes 6 pints of Flavor of the Month Ice Cream
- Each month comes with a variety of different flavors
December Flavors (Flavors Shipped December 1st – 31st)

- 1 Chocolate Hazelnut – Chocolate Nutella ice cream, loaded with dark chocolate flakes. You had me at Nutella!
- 1 Spice Cookie Crumble – Sweet cinnamon ice cream loaded with our special spice cookie crumb. With delightful spices of allspice, ginger, nutmeg & clove, no wonder it’s a fan favorite for the holidays.
- 1 Peppermint Brownie – Pure peppermint ice cream with chunks of our own superfudge brownies and sprinkled with crushed peppermint candies. A classic holiday flavor.
- 1 Cranberry Blood Orange Sorbet – All the flavors of the holiday season rolled into a freshening sorbet. This sorbet is a perfect balance between tart cranberry and sweet blood orange, with notes of cinnamon, clove, and ginger.
- 1 Banana Pudding – One of our most popular small-batch flavors of all time! This classic Southern dessert makes the perfect ice cream with chunks of fresh banana, fluffy whipped cream, and your favorite vanilla wafer cookies (the real deal, not the faux ones). Nana taste-tested and approved!

"The Best Ice Cream in Kentucky" - Travel & Leisure

In 2011, Crank & Boom founders Toa and Mike Green were looking for a creative dessert to serve in their family’s Thai restaurant, when they purchased a 2-quart ice cream machine and churned up the first batch of what would eventually become Kentucky’s most sought after small batch ice cream. It was when their restaurant customers started showing up just for dessert however, that the couple decided to close the restaurant and go all in on ice cream.
Today, Crank & Boom’s flagship location serves up ice cream alongside craft beer and cocktails made with local spirits in a concept the Greens call an “ice cream lounge.” From Bourbon Honey and Blackberry Buttermilk to Coffee Stout and Bourbon Ball, their flavors incorporate the bounty of Kentucky’s farms, breweries, and distilleries, as well as international ingredients like taro and black sesame in an homage to Toa’s Thai heritage.
