Rosh Hashanah Cookie Box - 12 Pack

This High Holiday season, we are going back to Cookie Good’s roots a bit…

Grandpa Manny was one of the original Canter Brothers of Canter’s Deli in Boyle Heights (Canter’s first Los Angeles location). Sundays were spent at the deli getting ‘lost’ behind the bakery counter — Cookie Good’s love of food and baking started here. In honor of their grandfather (and the Jewish New Year), this cookie box has been inspired by some of their favorite Canter’s Deli bakery treats.

Cookie Good is a family business run by Melanie & Ross Canter along with their 20-something kids, Mia & Gabe. Ross was a Hollywood screenwriter who loved to bake, and during the 2008 writer’s strike he started selling cookies out of his house to make a little extra money. The business quickly grew, and Cookie Good was born! Cookie Good uses only the highest-quality ingredients in all of their fun and nostalgic baked goods: chocolates from Callebaut & Van Leer, Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla, and AA sweet creamery butter.

This package includes 12 Assorted Cookies

  • Each cookie weighs 1.7 ounces and measures 3" – 3.5" (depending on the cookie)
  • Recommended serving size is 2 cookies per person (factoring in your appetite and willingness to share, of course!)
  • Choose to add Gift Packaging!

Cookie Flavors Include

  • 2 Black & White – This might just be the quintessential deli bakery cookie. And, for something as simple as an iced butter cookie, people can get very serious about what makes the perfect Black & White. After lots (and lots) of taste testing, we’ve come up with ours. This cookie is thick and dense and buttery with hints of vanilla and almond…and most importantly, the icing will crack when you bite into it.
  • 2 Marble Cake – For us, no trip to a deli is complete without picking up a marble cake. Chocolate and vanilla swirled together; so simple, so delicious. Now thanks to this cookie, we don’t have to go across town and wait in line…and neither will you!
  • 2 Blueberry Cheesecake – Pillowy chunks of creamy cheesecake and juicy, wild blueberries are stuffed into a graham crackery cookie dough…and then the whole thing is rolled in graham cracker crumbs.
  • 2 Rainbow Cookie – These red, white, and green cookies are popular in Jewish and Italian delis. More of a cake than a cookie, it’s got layers of tinted almond cake, and raspberry filling and is topped with chocolate glaze or sprinkles. Our cookie is layered almond cookie dough (yes, in three colors) with a bit of raspberry jam and rolled it in chocolate jimmies.
  • 2 Rainbow Sprinkle – My favorite deli cookie growing up. This soft and chewy version has a hint of lemon (not so much that you’d call it a “lemon cookie” but just enough to make it taste bright and buttery) and is covered in crunchy rainbow nonpareils.
  • 2* Rugelach* – While technically not a traditional rolled/filled “rugelach,” this cookie’s got all of the cinnamony/walnut/chocolate chippy goodness that’d make any Jewish grandma kvell. ny/walnuty/chocolate chippy goodness that’d make any Jewish grandma kvell.
