Chocolate Hazelnut Salami

This whimsical Italian dessert looks like a salami – but it’s chocolate! Christian has partnered up with master chocolatier Fritz Knipschildt to make this party-ready treat: fresh-baked shortbread cookies, combined with silky smooth dark chocolate ganache (kicked up with a hint of espresso) and folded in with four types of hazelnut – gianduja, chopped hazelnuts, candied hazelnuts and hazelnut halves – before being rolled up into a salami-shaped log and dusted with powdered sugar. Keep it in your refrigerator or freezer and slice it up whenever you have company or need something sweet to pair with your after-dinner coffee!

Born and raised in the Bronx, Chef Christian Petroni has made a name for himself as one of New York City’s most prominent Italian-American chefs. Christian first rose to fame as the founder of the groundbreaking wood-fired Italian restaurant Fortina, which had five Tri-State Area locations. During his time at Fortina, he found stardom on the Food Network, where he’s appeared on shows including Guy’s Grocery Games, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, Beat Bobby Flay, and Supermarket Stakeout. And now his signature dishes are shipping nationwide!

Christian first made this cult favorite garlic bread on his mobile pizza truck, and it became so popular that it earned its own pop-up and was featured on the Food Network documentary “Restaurant Hustle.” Inspired by Bronx red sauce joints, it’s super-cheesy, super-garlicky, and pairs perfectly with marinara sauce. And don’t miss his craveworthy Sicilian-style garlic butter-topped cheese pizza!
