Bonded by a common viewpoint on what makes for delicious food, Chef Mashama Bailey and restaurateur Johno Morisano partnered to build The Grey in historic Downtown Savannah. Located in an old Greyhound bus terminal, The Grey transports guests to the past, present, and future of Port City Southern Cuisine. Tapping into much of what they learned in creating The Grey, Bailey and Morisano opened The Grey Market in 2018 with the ultimate goal of making and serving food that will fill your belly and your soul. Since opening The Grey, Mashama has been awarded two James Beard Awards – Best Chef Southeast in 2019 and Outstanding Chef in 2022, and along with Morisano, has gone on to open The Diner Bar and The Grey Market in Austin, TX.
