In 2009, longtime friends Laurie Bowen and Kristin Broadley decided to leave their careers behind as a deputy sheriff and a banker to open a pie shop. But not just any pie shop. The Pie Ladies, as they’re now known, are handcrafting what many believe to be the best chicken pie in the nation. At the top of their list of fans is none other than Oprah who discovered Centerville’s pies while on the Cape several years back and helped to elevate their pies to celeb status with a feature on her show as one of her favorite things.
This package serves 14-16 people and includes 2 pies, your choice
- Each pie serves 6-8 people and measures 9"
Pie Options Include:
- Signature Chicken Pie – The one that Oprah made the most famous pie in America.
- Apple Pie – Hand-peeled apples coated in cinnamon, sugar, and nutmeg.
- Cherry Pie – Filled with tart cherry pie filling.
- BBQ Pulled Pork Pie – Slow-roasted pork simmered in sweet barbecue sauce.
- Spinach & Feta Pie – A vegetarian’s delight. Centerville Pie’s version of the traditional Spanakopita.
- Shepherd’s Pie – Seasoned ground beef with onions and corn, topped with creamy mashed potatoes and parmesan cheese.
- Thanksgiving Pie – Filled with turkey, given a hug by by homemade gravy, and topped with cranberry-studded stuffing.
- Beef & Ale Pie – Centerville Pie Co. braises its beef in Cape Cod Beer’s Porter Ale and adds in carrots, pearl onions, and potatoes. It’s like Beef Stew in a pie shell!
- Pies are unbaked and shipped frozen with dry ice, may dissipate during transit.
- Upon arrival, place pie in the freezer until ready to enjoy.
To Serve
Savory Pies
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Remove plastic wrap and place pie on a cookie sheet.
- Bake pie on the bottom rack for 90 minutes or until golden brown (internal temperature should reach 165 degrees).
- Remove from oven and allow pie to cool.
- Slice and enjoy!
Sweet Pies
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Remove plastic wrap and place pie on a cookie sheet.
- Brush pie with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar prior to baking.
- Bake pie for 15 minutes.
- Decrease oven temperature to 350°F and bake for another 60 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and allow pie to cool.
- Slice and enjoy!
