Old-School Midwestern Baked Goods Since 1903

Butter Maid Bakery is one of the Midwest’s longest-running bakeries, going strong since founder Dimitri Naumoff emigrated from the Old Country to Youngstown, Ohio, in 1903 and brought his ample baking skills with him. After several moves and name changes, his son, Nicholas, opened Butter Maid Bakery in Boardman in 1955, and it’s run by fifth-generation Naumoffs to this day.
The Naumoffs know not to mess with perfection, and their recipes and ingredients haven’t changed in decades. They use the freshest, highest-quality ingredients they can find to turn out a huge variety of baked goods and sweets. From some of the best buckeyes in Ohio to their signature kolachi rolls, a delicate and buttery filled and rolled pastry made according to an old family recipe that hasn’t changed in over 150 years, they’re all handmade in small batches, with plenty of love.
