Everyone in the tiny town of Kimmswick, Missouri, knows Mary Hostetter’s Blue Owl, founded in 1983, is the spot for a delicious, country-style meal, and word of her famously tall, flaky-crusted Levee-High Apple Pie quickly traveled around the world and made her down-home Blue Owl Bakery a source for a true slice of heaven. The bakery’s famous Caramel Apple Pecan Levee High Pie was named one of Oprah’s Favorite Things.
This package serves 16 people and includes your choice of 2 Quiches
- Each quiche serves 8 people, measures approx. 9" and weighs approx. 2 lbs.
Quiche Options Include
- Quiche Lorraine – This quiche is baked in a homemade, tender, flaky pie crust and has fresh whipped cream, eggs, crumbled bacon, diced onion, and shredded Swiss cheese.
- Spinach Artichoke Quiche – This homemade pie shell is filled with fresh whipped cream, eggs, chopped spinach, artichoke, Swiss cheese, cheddar cheese, and green onions. Jam packed with flavor and melt in your mouth creamy, cheesy goodness.
- Quiche ships frozen with dry ice.
- Dry ice may dissipate in transit, product may thaw.
- Do not remove dry ice with bare hands.
- Upon arrival, store quiche in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 5 months.
To Serve
- Preheat oven to 300°F.
- Remove shrink wrap and bake for approx. 20-25 minutes (or until a metal knife inserted in the middle comes out hot).
- Slice, serve and enjoy!

But word of her famously tall, flaky-crusted Levee-High Apple Pie—each one piled high with 18 hand-peeled and hand-sliced apples has traveled around the world and made her downhome bakery a source for a true slice of heaven. An avid baker, Mary Hostetter started off in humbly 1983, offering homemade baked goods at festivals and fairs in the St. Louis area. But by Christmas of 1984, she was receiving 30,000 orders and knew she had to expand. Today, Mary welcomes more than 300 customers daily with the help of 75 staff at the Blue Owl Restaurant.
