It’s placed between two slices of locally-sourced sourdough bread with a slice of fontina and sharp cheddar before being cooked to melty perfection. A light finishing schmear of chipotle aioli gives it a smoky kick that ties all the flavors together!
Bite Into Maine was founded by the husband-and-wife duo of Karl & Sarah Sutton back in 2011 as a 72 square foot food cart at the Portland Head Light along Maine’s ruggedly beautiful Atlantic coast. Back then, the idea of a “nontraditional” lobster roll was unheard-of; they were topped with butter or mayo, and that was it. But the Suttons had a brilliant idea: offer mayo flavored with ingredients like chipotle and wasabi, used in ways that don’t overwhelm the sweet, delicate flavor of the lobster. The concept took off, and Bite Into Maine has since expanded to three locations.

- 2 Lobster Grilled Cheese Sandwiches (each approx. 8 oz.)
- Butter (1.8 oz.)
- Each Lobster Grilled Cheese Sandwich measures 6.25″ × 4.25
- Requires cooking
- Choose to add on 4 Chocolate & Vanilla Buttercream Whoopie Pies
- Each Whoopie Pie weighs 4.7 oz.
- This package ships frozen with ice packs, may thaw in transit
- Upon arrival, remove from packaging and place in the refrigerator or freezer depending on the desired use.
- Once fully thawed, keep items for no more than 4 hours at room temperature.
- Items may be stored in the refrigerator for 2 days, or in the freezer for up to 30 days.
To Serve
- Thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
- Bring butter to room temperature or melt in microwave.
- Take each sandwich out of its package.
- Heat a pan on the stovetop to medium heat.
- Generously brush butter on both sides of the sandwich.
- Cook until bread is a medium golden brown, and cheese inside is melted through (about 4-6 minutes per side).
- Enjoy!

At the heart of their spectacular lobster rolls is the freshest available Maine lobster, which gets lightly dressed with mayo (in the traditional Maine style), nestled inside a fresh locally-baked roll, and served cold.
