Great Lakes Crunch Pie

Betty’s Pies ships its famous pies nationwide on Goldbelly! Betty’s “Crunch Pies” are named for their crunchy oatmeal and brown sugar topping (which adds great texture and flavor). Their signature Great Lakes Crunch Pie is a serious multi-fruit pie featuring 5 delicious fruits—signifying 5 Great Lakes—apple, blueberry, rhubarb, strawberry, and raspberry. This Betty’s best-seller fruit pie makes a great gift for any occasion (thank-you, hostess, get-well)…but we suggest ordering one for your kitchen counter.

What started as a fish shack that sold coffee and donuts on Highway 61 in 1956 has grown to be one of the best pie companies in the world. Betty’s Pies in Two Harbors, Minnesota, is famous for their crave-worthy cream pies, “crunch pies,” and old-fashioned double-crusts. Betty’s Pies bakes dozens of flavors, including Coconut Cream, French Cherry Cream, Caramel Apple Crunch, and the Five-Layer Chocolate Cream Pie.

Two Harbors, MN
A regular stopping point for travelers on Lake Superior’s North Shore, Betty’s Pies has been a Midwest favorite since Betty opened her doors in Two Harbors 1956. People come from all over the U.S.—and even the world—to taste their famous Five-Layer Chocolate and countless other legendary pies like Coconut Cream and Great Lakes “Crunch." It all began in 1956 when Betty's father Aleck built a fish shack by the Stewart River on Highway 61. Realizing the fishermen might enjoy some goodies while waiting during their pit stops, Betty started making donuts and coffee for them, adding hamburgers and hotdogs soon thereafter. However, the tipping point came when Betty added pies to her menu and as demand for these delicious and unique pies grew, their success would build a foundation for a baking legacy that has now lasted for over 60 years.
