These caramel covered marshmallows have been crafted in small batches using old fashioned copper kettles to improve quality, consistency, and ensure they taste the same way since their original founder started making them. This mouth-watering candy is available in several different flavors, including original vanilla, dark chocolate, sea salt, butterscotch, and more.
Since 1889, Bauer’s Candies has been making its signature Modjeskas, pillowy soft marshmallows enrobed in smooth caramel. Bauer’s Candies are still crafted the old fashioned way, with pure ingredients and with the same recipe since their establishment. Every piece of candy is hand-dipped and hand wrapped. No automation, no outside sources — every piece of candy that leaves the factory has been handcrafted in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.

Modjeskas have been manufactured by Bauer's Candies of Louisville, KY since 1889. Originally named "Caramel Biscuit," Modjeskas are a soft and delicious confection with a creamy marshmallow center hand dipped into a rich homemade caramel. Bauer's Candies is a family-owned and family-operated company that has been passed down for generations. Traditionally, the mastery of confection making was inherited by the Bauer sons until the current owner, Anna Bauer, took her place at the head of the table, making her the first woman to run the family operation. Under her leadership, Bauer's Candies expanded out of the family basement and into a new age, but she has never lost sight of Bauer family standards and values.
Bauer’s Candies products are still crafted the old fashioned way, with pure ingredients, and with the same recipe as their founder in 1889. Even as Bauer’s has evolved, the candy has always remained the same. The pillowy soft marshmallows and deliciously smooth caramel is homemade, and every piece is hand-dipped and hand wrapped for your enjoyment.
