His customers followed, his popularity grew, and soon all of New York knew him as “The Sturgeon King.” Two generations later, Barney Greengrass continues to cater to “those who demand the best,” under the meticulous guidance of Barney’s grandson, Gary. In addition to looking much the same as it did back in Barney’s day, the iconic shop and restaurant has become a one-of-a-kind destination for smoked fish and deli lovers from across the globe.
