Artisan Pies - Choose Your Own 2 Pack

While living with her mother in San Francisco, Jaynelle St. Jean started baking pies as a hobby and giving away slices through a window. Even though she’d only perfected three pie recipes, the response told her that she was into something good, and in 2010 she officially launched Pietisserie in Oakland. These pies have flaky, handmade crusts, and Jaynelle only uses the finest natural ingredients purchased directly from regional producers in her fillings.

Pie Options Include

  • Raspberry Chocolate – Two pounds of intensely flavorful raspberries in a decadent, dark chocolate double crust. The perfect sweet-tart balance and oh so gorgeous.
  • Ultraviolet – A sweet potato pie like never before: made from a naturally purple potato, this eye-catcher also has a brilliant nutty, vanilla flavor that sets it apart from the classic orange sweet potato pie.
  • Pink Apple – Two tones of tart and one blushy hue are the result of a combination of granny smith apples and rhubarb in one pie.
  • Pecan – Classic holiday pie with sweet California-grown nuts straight from the orchard. Wonderful with whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • Raspberry Chocolate – Raspberries, Sugar, Cornstarch, Flour, Cinnamon. Crust: Flour, Butter, Sugar, Cocoa, Egg, Salt, Vanilla.
  • Ultraviolet – Purple Sweet Potato, Condensed Milk, Sugar, Butter, Egg, Flour, Cinnamon, Salt. Crust: Flour, Butter, Egg, Water, Sugar, Salt.
  • Pink Apple – Granny Smith Apples, Rhubarb, Brown Sugar, Sugar, Flour, Cornstarch, Cinnamon. Crust: Flour, Oats, Butter, Egg, Water, Sugar, Salt.
  • Pecan – Pecans, Brown Sugar, Corn Syrup, Egg, Butter, Molasses, Flour, Salt. Crust: Flour, Oats, Butter, Egg, Water, Sugar, Salt.

Instructions / Storage

  • Pies ship frozen with ice packs and dry ice
  • Ice packs may thaw in transit, dry ice may dissipate
  • Do NOT remove dry ice with bare hands
  • Upon arrival store your pie in the fridge if you plan to enjoy it in the next couple of days. Otherwise, store it in the freezer

To Serve

Raspberry Chocolate

  • Remove the pie from its plastic seal and place it back in the box
  • Allow the pie to thaw on the countertop for at least a few hours
  • Enjoy at room temperature, or warm at 300 for 5 minutes.

Ultraviolet

  • Remove the pie from its plastic seal and place it back in the box
  • Allow the pie to thaw on the countertop for at least a few hours
  • Room temp is best.

Pink Apple

  • Remove the pie from its plastic seal and place it back in the box
  • Allow the pie to thaw on the countertop for at least a few hours
  • Enjoy at room temperature, or warm at 300 for 10 minutes

Pecan

  • Remove the pie from its plastic seal and place it back in the box
  • Allow the pie to thaw on the countertop for at least a couple of hours
  • Enjoy at room temperature, or warm at 300 for 10 minutes

Pumpkin in Chocolate

  • Remove the pie from its plastic seal and place it back in the box
  • Allow the pie to thaw on the countertop for at least a few hours
  • Enjoy at room temperature, or warm at 300 for 5 minutes

Savory Chicken

  • Preheat your oven to 365° and place a sheet tray on the rack. It’s totally optional but I like to brush the pie with egg white before baking it
  • Put the pie on the hot baking sheet
  • Let it cook for an hour from thawed. (Longer if you cook from frozen.)
  • Keep an eye on it till it looks like you really want to dig into it
  • Just don’t burn it and enjoy!
