Started in 2015 by Pooja Bavishi, Malai Ice Cream uses ice cream as a delicious blank slate to showcase the familiar flavors of her childhood – warm spices and aromatic flavors like ginger, nutmeg, cardamom, and saffron. Malai means “cream of the crop,” and is a fitting name for Pooja’s ice cream creations, which draw inspiration from globally-sourced ingredients to create unexpected twists on classic ice cream flavors. Pooja crafts her small-batch artisanal ice cream by hand, creating totally unique and satisfying flavors.

Ice Cream Flavors Include
- 1 Sweet Roti & Ghee – An Indian version of the comforting flavors of bread, sugar and butter, made with roti, jaggery and ghee.
- 1 Confetti Sweet Milk – Think condensed milk in ice cream form with colorful sprinkles of fennel candies throughout. Sweet simplicity.
- 1 Black Forest – A cardamom “whipped cream” ice cream with rich, decadent streams of chocolate fudge, and a cherry rose ripple folded in throughout.
- 1 Saffron Pistachio – Bold saffron ice cream base with a pistachio, white chocolate, and cardamom swirl.
- 1 Shahi Toast – Rich saffron-spiced ice cream with toasty, caramelized bread pieces with just a hint of cardamom studded throughout.
- 1 Butterscotch Butter Pecan – Fennel seeds add notes of licorice that complement the sweetness of butterscotch. Buttery toasted pecans add crunch!
If a flavor is sold out, it will be replaced with a different flavor
- This package arrives frozen with dry ice.
- Dry ice may dissipate in transit.
- Do not remove dry ice with bare hands.
- Upon arrival store ice cream in the freezer for up to 6 months.
To Serve
- To enjoy right away, let them rest at room temperature for 10 minutes or until you can just slightly squeeze the pints.

Malai means "Cream of the crop," and is a fitting name for Pooja's ice cream creations, which draw inspiration from globally-sourced, whole ingredients and aromatic spices to create unexpected twists on classic ice cream flavors.
As a little kid, aroma was always at the forefront for Pooja, who's memories of being small and sniffing her parents' spicy masala chai tea were evocative enough to transform the memory into an ice cream flavor. Pooja uses ice cream as the perfect blank slate to showcase the familiar flavors of her childhood - warm spices like ginger, nutmeg, cardamom, and saffron. Now, Pooja crafts all the ice cream by hand for these totally unique and satisfying flavors.
