Home of New York’s Best “Juicy Lucy”

The Juicy Lucy is a Minneapolis specialty, a big burger with a pool of molten cheese oozing out of its center. When Larry Kramer and Craig Koenig opened Whitmans in New York’s East Village in 2010, they added a Juicy Lucy to the menu, but with a Southern kick: it’s stuffed with a massive amount of gooey, melty housemade pimento cheese. This mashup remains their signature burger, and Whitmans is still one of the few restaurants on the East Coast to serve up this Midwestern treat.
