The Original Turkey

Located inside Philly’s famed Reading Terminal Market since 1983, family owned-and-operated The Original Turkey does one thing and does it really, really well: turkey. It was founded by Roger Bassett, who can still be found at the market, roasting over 40 turkeys every day and carving them by hand.

These are some of the most pampered turkeys on earth. High-quality turkey breasts are brined and coated in a signature herb rub before being “steam roasted” to tender, juicy perfection. When tucked into a roll from renowned Philly bakery Liscio’s along with cheese, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and gravy, well.. It might just be the best sandwich on earth. And don’t even get us started on the ham! These folks really know how to make a roast, and they’re shipping their dinners and sandwich kits nationwide!
