It’s true—Chef Hala Yassine is one of seven sisters (and two brothers). After tasting Hala’s first scone, her sisters did not stop bugging her—”Can’t you make an apple caramel?”, “Chocolate!”, “What about savory scones?” The requests were endless, but it pushed her to create unique flavors like Fig & Goat Cheese, Cinnamon Coffee Cake and Jalapeno, Green Olive & Cheddar. Since baking her first scone—a classic cranberry orange—Hala has taken this treat from selling at local farmers’ markets to opening an actual storefront in Johns Creek. In store, Seven Sisters offers sconewichs—savory scones sandwiching turkey, roast beef or ham and topped with cheese, peppers or caramelized onions. Get some and try it at home!
