Sammy's Pizza

A Minnesota Pizza Tradition Since 1954
You may know New York, Chicago, and Detroit-style pizza, but Minnesota has a style all its own, too – and nobody does it better than Sammy’s. Founded by former miner Sam Perrella and his wife Louise in 1954 in Hibbing (best known for its iron mine and as the hometown of Bob Dylan), Sammy’s is a homegrown local icon that today has more than a dozen locations throughout the region. It’s run by Sam & Louise’s children and grandchildren, who keep his legacy alive one pizza at a time.
Sammy’s Minnesota-style pizza recipe hasn’t changed since day one: It starts with freshmade dough, topped with freshly shredded mozzarella, scratchmade tomato sauce, and toppings including fresh veggies and homemade pork sausage. It bakes up to crispy perfection, and (like all Minnesota-style pizzas) it’s “party cut” into squares instead of the more typical slices. Sammy’s has been a Northland tradition for more than 70 years, and it’s shipping nationwide!
