Handcrafted Southern Sweets, Three Generations Deep

At Nana Dot's Southern Sweets, the Mesquite, Texas bakery behind some of the South's most beloved sweet potato pie, every dessert tells a story of family, faith, tradition, and Southern hospitality. The recipes trace to Dorothy Louise, the grandmother known as Nana Dot, who learned to cook at fourteen in Toxey, Alabama and spent decades perfecting the sweet potato pies, pound cakes, and homemade desserts that made her table legendary. As a widow raising three daughters, she rarely had the chance to take those skills beyond her own community, until 2007, when she began passing her treasured recipes to her granddaughter Audris Barnes.

Audris launched Nana Dot's Southern Sweets in 2017 to share those Southern baking traditions with the country, and today the legacy runs three generations deep, with Audris as CEO, her brother Akin as COO, and her mother Audrey as Senior Baker. From the famous Sweet Potato Pie to rich pound cakes and layered Southern cakes, every recipe is handcrafted using traditional methods and the same love Nana Dot poured into every dessert she made. Nana Dot's Southern Sweets ships nationwide on Goldbelly. Here, we're not just shipping desserts, we're sharing a family legacy, one slice at a time.
