When baker Frank Longordo moved south from New Jersey in 1985, he brought his trade to Wilmington, North Carolina and opened Apple Annie's Bake Shop. Four decades later, it's the Port City's go-to scratch bakery for celebration cakes, cannolis, eclairs, cookies, and fresh-baked breads, still working out of the same central business district and turning out some 500 products from scratch for a following that runs three generations deep.
