Veselka ships its legendary pierogi nationwide on Goldbelly! Veselka’s pierogi are traditional Eastern European dumplings filled with Veselka’s best-selling flavors — Short Rib and Potato!

What started as a humble newsstand serving soups and sandwiches has turned into a legendary, family-owned and operated institution in New York’s East Village. Opened in 1954 by Ukrainian refugees Wolodymyr and Olha Darmochwal, Veselka, which means “rainbow,” is one of New York’s best 24/7 diners, serving Old World comfort food like pierogi, borscht, and goulash.

To Serve

Pierogis

  • Allow pierogi to defrost completely and cook in salted boiling water for 3-4 minutes.
  • Optional: After boiling, pan-fry pierogis in butter until golden brown.
  • Serve & enjoy!

Potato Pancake

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Place frozen pancakes on an ungreased sheet pan.
  • Place in oven and bake for approx. 20-25 minutes, flipping the potato pancakes after the first 10 minutes.
