Chef Jose Garces is the 2009 James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic, an Iron Chef and Food Network mainstay, and the chef & owner of Distrito, which opened in Philadelphia in 2008 and is today renowned as one of America’s best Mexican restaurants. The casual and welcoming Distrito is a vibrant celebration of the culture and cuisine of Mexico City, with a menu focused on the city’s diverse array of street foods.

At Distrito, Garces and his team are using time-honored, traditional Mexican techniques and ingredients to craft a menu of deeply flavorful tacos brimming with tender chili-braised beef, melt-in-your-mouth pork carnitas, chipotle-braised chicken, and soy chorizo, with all the traditional accompaniments.
