Instructions

Deli Meats & Sandwich Kits

TO STORE

  • Mendy's hand slices their Kosher deli meats to order, then freezes them just before shipping
  • Meats are fully cooked and may thaw partially or fully during transit.
  • Upon arrival, place all meats in the refrigerator until ready to eat
  • Enjoy meats within 3 to 4 days, or freeze for up to one month
  • Pickles, Coleslaw, Sauerkraut, Hot Peppers, Chopped Liver, Mustard & Russian Dressing should also be refrigerated immediately
  • Chopped liver is best enjoyed within 2 days of arrival. The other non-meat items should be enjoyed within one week
  • Knishes 
  • Rye bread can be stored at room temperature, or frozen for up to one month

TO SERVE

  • STEP 1: If frozen, thaw meat in the refrigerator overnight. 
  • STEP 2:  Remove meat from refrigerator two hours before serving or heating 
  • STEP 3:  if you would like to warm the meat, place a thin layer on aluminum foil, close the foil and heat in a 300-degree oven for 10 minutes
  • STEP 4: alternatively, you can heat in the microwave for 30 seconds (using a microwave-safe plate or dish)
  • STEP 5: Assemble your sandwich with your favorite accoutrements. Enjoy!

Soups

TO STORE

  • Mendy's makes their soups to order, then freezes them just before shipping
  • Soups may thaw partially or fully during transit.
  • Upon arrival, place soups in the refrigerator, and keep rye bread at room temperature
  • Enjoy within 4 days, or freeze soups and rye bread for up to one month

TO SERVE

  • STEP 1:  If frozen, allow soups to defrost overnight in the refrigerator 
  • STEP 2:  Heat soups in a sauce pan over low to medium heat, stirring frequently until hot throughout

Knishes

TO STORE

  • Mendy's bakes their knishes to order, then freezes it before shipping
  • Knishes are fully cooked and may thaw partially or fully during transit.
  • Upon arrival, place Knishes and mustard in the refrigerator until ready to heat
  • Enjoy within 2 days, or freeze for up to one month
  • To serve, allow to thaw if frozen and follow the reheating instructions below.

TO SERVE

  • STEP 1: If frozen, allow knishes to thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
  • STEP 2: Remove knishes from refrigerator one to two hours before serving
  • STEP 3: Place knishes on a baking sheet and heat in a 300-degree oven for 15 minutes, or until warm throughout
  • STEP 4: Enjoy with the included deli mustard (if you want!)
