Grill ‘em up, tuck them into Lekka’s housemade vegan buns, top with the included pickles, and veganaise (BYO lettuce, tomato and onion), then spice things up with peri peri sauce (a spicy and garlicky South African chile sauce) or sweet and spicy barbecue sauce, douse the fries with vegan cheese sauce, and dig into one of New York’s most beloved plant-based feasts!

Ingredients

  • Vegan Burger – Portobello Mushrooms, Cannellini Beans, Salt, Pepper, Onion, Water, Red Chili Flakes, Canola Oil
  • Bun – Soy Milk, Bread Flour, Vegan Butter, Sugar, Salt, Sesame Seed
  • Fries – Potato, Vegetable Oil, Canola Oil
  • Pickles – Cucumbers, Water,distilled Vinegar, Salt
  • Peri Peri Sauce – Thai Red Chili Pepper, Garlic, Red Onion, Lemon Juice, Tomato Paste
  • BBQ Sauce – Paprika, Salt, Cumin, Garlic, Ancho Chili, Brown Sugar, Mustard Powder, Cayenne Powder, Black Pepper, White Pepper, Hickory Smoke Powder
  • “Cheese” Sauce – Butterbeans, Oats, Coconut and Safflower Oil, Jalapenos, Salt
  • Veganaise – Canola Oil, Water, Brown Rice Syrup, Apple Cider Vinegar, Soy Protein, Sea Salt, Mustard Flour, Lemon Juice
  • Chocolate Chip Cookies – AP Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, Kosher Salt, Chocolate Chunks, Sugar, Dark Brown Sugar, Canola Oil, Water

Instructions / Storage

  • Burger Kit ships with ice packs
  • Ice packs may thaw in transit No, patties need to be heated
  • Upon arrival, unpack box and place items in fridge
  • Items may be kept in the fridge for up to 5 days, Do Not Freeze

TO SERVE

VEGAN BURGER PATTIES

  • Take patties out of the fridge and let get to room temperature for best results (approx. 30 minutes)
  • Remove from packaging

STOVE TOP:

  • Pre-heat a medium size frying pan (preferably nonstick)
  • Add 2 tablespoons of a neutral-flavor oil
  • When pan is hot, add patties
  • Cook for 2 minutes then flip and cook for 2 more minutes
  • When cooked, take patties out of the pan and let drain on a paper towel

OVEN:

  • Pre-heat oven to 375ºF
  • Brush patties with 2 tablespoons of a neutral-flavor oil
  • Drain off any excess oil
  • Place in the center of the sheet pan about 2-inches apart
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes
  • Let patties drain on a paper towel

MICROWAVE:

  • Wrap individual patties in a paper towel and put on a microwave-safe plate
  • Microwave on high for 2 minutes
  • Turn over and microwave for another 2 minutes

GRILL:

  • Brush patties with 2 tablespoons of a neutral-flavor oil
  • Drain excess
  • Place on the hottest side of the grill for 2 minutes
  • Flip and cook for 2 more minutes
  • Let drain on a paper towel

BUNS

BROILER:

  • Set up buns with the cut side facing up on a sheet pan
  • Toast in broiler until golden brown (about 3 minutes depending on your equipment).

TOASTER OVEN:

  • Place buns face up on the toast setting for 3 minutes, until golden brown.

OVEN:

  • Set oven to 375ºF
  • Place buns face up on a sheet pan
  • Put in oven and toast for 5 minutes, until golden brown

ASSEMBLE BURGERS

  • Vegenaise
  • Patty
  • BBQ or Peri Peri Sauce
  • “Cheese” Sauce (optional)
  • Tomatoes*
  • Pickles
  • Onions*
  • Lettuce*
  • Bun

PLEASE NOTE: Lettuce, Onions, and Tomatoes Not Included

FRIES

OVEN:

  • Preheat oven to 400ºF
  • Place fries on a sheet pan
  • Make sure they are spread out and not touching each other
  • Bake for 20 minutes
  • If you like really crispy fries cook for 3 more minutes
  • Halfway through cooking move fries around so they cook evenly
  • When fries are out of the oven, toss with 1/4 teaspoon of salt right away for best results.

HOME FRYER:

  • Heat oil to 375ºF. Fry fries for 3 minutes
  • Let drain in fryer basket or on a paper towel
  • Toss with 1/4 teaspoon of salt.

STOVE-TOP POT:

  • Heat oil to 375ºF, you will need a thermometer that goes that high
  • Fry fries for 3 minutes
  • Let drain on a paper towel
  • Toss with 1/4 teaspoon of salt
