Elegant Bries are made fresh, frozen and shipped with dry ice, which may thaw partially or fully during transit. They arrive fully prepared, but unbaked and frozen. Upon arrival, place the package in the freezer immediately. Bries can be stored in the freezer for up to 6 months.
You can bake your Elegant Brie appetizer frozen or you can defrost in your refrigerator overnight. Follow the instructions below:
STEP 1 Preheat oven to 400 degrees – position cooking racks at optimal levels.
STEP 2 Remove outer plastic packaging and place brie appetizer on a pie tin (ideal) or cookie sheet (with an edge) lined with the parchment paper.
STEP 3 Place your Elegant Brie on oven rack that is positioned in the middle of the oven. (Avoid the very bottom position in the oven as to not burn the bottom of the appetizer.)
STEP 4 Cook the brie for about 35 (defrosted) -45 (frozen) minutes or until the outer puff pastry reaches your desired level of golden brown. Baking time will vary by oven - keep a close eye on the brie during the cooking process to ensure you don’t go beyond “golden” brown - this is a hot oven.
STEP 5 Remove Elegant Brie from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Slide brie off the pie tin onto desired serving dish.
*Tip* If you are worried your oven might cause the bottom of the brie to brown too fast, you can double the pie tin or double the cookie sheet. Don't worry if some of the cheese oozes out! It’s all melted cheese goodness. If brie does leak out it will collect around the base of the appetizer and you should scoop it up and serve.
