Deep, dark, rich, meaty and satisfying, Brenda’s House Recipe Gumbo is chockfull of
chicken, andouille pork sausage, okra and spices! Serve with a freshly steamed pot of white rice and sliced scallions.
This package serves 3-4 people and includes:
- 2 bags Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo (each 32 oz.)
- 1 container Par-Boiled Rice (8 oz.)
- Choose to add 6 Ready-to-Bake Cream Biscuits + an 8 oz. Spread
Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo – Andouille Sausage, Chicken, Onion, Celery, Garlic, Bell Pepper, Flour, Lard, Okra, Salt, Black Pepper, Cayenne, Chicken Stock, Bay Leaves, Thyme
Biscuits – Flour, Salt, Baking Powder, Sugar, Butter, Cream
Peach Jam – Peaches, Sugar, Salt, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Cornstarch
Strawberry Jam – Strawberries, Sugar, Salt, Cinnamon, Cornstarch
Instructions / Storage
- Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo ships frozen with ice packs
- Ice packs may thaw in transit
- Upon arrival freeze or refrigerate
- May be stored in the fridge for 4 days or frozen for 3 weeks
- Place par-boiled rice into a small saucepan with a lid
- Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil
- Lower the flame to a simmer and place lid on pot
- Steam for 20 minutes
Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo
- Pour gumbo into medium saucepan and heat over a medium flame
- Stir occasionally to make sure the gumbo does not scorch to the bottom of the pan
- Once heated through, serve with steamed white rice and (optional) sliced scallions.
