Then enjoy a bowl or two of smoky red beans with andouille sausage or rich chicken, andouille sausage & okra gumbo with steamed rice. Finish it all off with your choice of stuffed Ghirardelli chocolate or Granny Smith apple beignets.

  • 1 container Par-Boiled Rice (8 oz.)
  • 6 Ready-to-Bake Cream Biscuits

Ingredients

Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo – Andouille Sausage, Chicken, Onion, Celery, Garlic, Bell Pepper, Flour, Lard, Okra, Salt, Black Pepper, Cayenne, Chicken Stock, Bay Leaves, Thyme

Red Beans & Andouille Sausage – Bacon, Onion, Celery, Garlic, Bell Pepper, Kidney Beans, Brown Sugar, Liquid Smoke, Salt, Black Pepper, Cayenne, Chicken Stock, Bay Leaves, Thyme

Ghirardelli Chocolate Beignets – Yeast, Granulated Sugar, Salt, Eggs, Milk, Flour, Crisco, Chocolate Chips

Granny Smith Apple Beignets – Yeast, Granulated Sugar, Salt, Eggs, Milk, Flour, Crisco, Apples, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger, Brown Sugar, Lemon Juice

Biscuits – Flour, Salt, Baking Powder, Sugar, Butter, Cream

Strawberry Jam – Strawberries, Sugar, Salt, Cinnamon, Cornstarch

Instructions / Storage

  • This Dinner Pack ships frozen with ice packs
  • Ice packs may thaw in transit
  • Upon arrival freeze or refrigerate
  • Gumbo, Rice, & Red Beans be stored in the fridge for 4 days or frozen for 3 weeks
  • If not frying immediately store beignets & biscuits in the freezer for 3 weeks
  • Defrosted beignets are good in the fridge for 1 day
  • Defrosted biscuits are good in the fridge for 3 days
  • Jam may be kept refrigerated for up to 1 week – Do Not Freeze
  • If frozen, thaw biscuits in the fridge overnight before preparing
  • If frozen, thaw beignets in the fridge before preparing

To Serve

Rice

  • Place par-boiled rice into a small saucepan with a lid
  • Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil
  • Lower the flame to a simmer and place lid on pot
  • Steam for 20 minutes

Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo

  • Pour gumbo into medium saucepan and heat over a medium flame
  • Stir occasionally to make sure the gumbo does not scorch to the bottom of the pan
  • Once heated through, serve with steamed white rice and (optional) sliced scallions.

Red Beans & Andouille Sausage

  • Pour beans into medium saucepan and heat over a medium flame
  • Stir occasionally to make sure the beans do not scorch to the bottom of the pan
  • Once heated through, serve with steamed white rice and (optional) sliced scallions.

Beignets

  • Allow Beignets to thaw in the fridge
  • Remove thawed beignets from refrigerator and packaging and place on a parchment paper-lined sheet pan
  • Let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes
  • Meanwhile, heat oil to 325 in a countertop deep fryer or dutch oven on the stove
  • Oil should be at least 4" deep
  • Fry a few beignets at a time making sure not to crowd them
  • Fry for 4 minutes then flip them over and continue frying for another 4 minutes
  • Remove from the fryer to a draining rack and liberally dust doughnuts with plenty of powdered sugar mix with the complimentary sugar sifter
  • Best enjoyed hot!

Biscuits

  • Allow Biscuits to thaw in the fridge overnight
  • Preheat oven to 500
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and coat with cooking oil spray
  • Place biscuits on pan spacing about 1” apart
  • Bake for exactly 5 minutes
  • Lower oven to 300* and rotate baking sheet 180
  • Bake for approximately 17 to 22 more minutes until cooked throughout
  • Serve with jam and enjoy!
