Bite Into Maine’s lobster rolls are all made with fresh, never frozen Maine lobster, pulled straight from the cool waters of the North Atlantic. Tuck them into local, freshly baked split-top rolls, perfectly butter-toasted (by you!), and finish in one of four styles: Maine Style (mixed with a small amount of mayo) Connecticut Style (drizzled with warm melted butter), Wasabi Style (mixed with homemade wasabi mayo), and Chipotle Style (mixed with homemade smoky chipotle mayo).

Bite Into Maine was founded by the husband-and-wife duo of Karl & Sarah Sutton back in 2011 as a 72 square foot food cart at the Portland Head Light along Maine’s ruggedly beautiful Atlantic coast. Back then, the idea of a “nontraditional” lobster roll was unheard-of; they were topped with butter or mayo, and that was it. But the Suttons had a brilliant idea: offer mayo flavored with ingredients like chipotle and wasabi, used in ways that don’t overwhelm the sweet, delicate flavor of the lobster. The concept took off, and Bite Into Maine has since expanded to three locations.

  • 2 Locally Baked New England Split-Top Rolls (approx. 6.4 oz.)

  • Butter (1.8 oz.)
  • Choose to add on 4 Chocolate & Vanilla Buttercream Whoopie Pies
    • Each Whoopie Pie weighs 4.7 oz.

  • Regular Mayo – Regular mayonnaise.
  • Wasabi Mayo – Not too much, but just enough zip to light up your taste buds.
  • Chipotle Mayo – More smoky than spicy, it’s a delicious twist to a New England classic.

Instructions / Storage

  • This package ships frozen with ice packs, may thaw in transit
  • Upon arrival, remove from packaging and place in the refrigerator or freezer depending on the desired use.
  • Once fully thawed, keep items for no more than 4 hours at room temperature.
  • Items may be stored in the refrigerator for 2 days.
  • We do not recommend freezing this lobster meat for best taste.

To Serve

  • Remove lobster from packaging, drain out any excess water, set lobster aside in a bowl.
  • Mix lobster with original mayo or flavored mayo to taste (except Connecticut style).
  • Remove buns from packaging.
  • Bring butter to room temperature or melt in microwave.
  • Heat pan to medium heat. Coat both sides of buns in melted butter and quickly grill both sides of buns until golden brown (typically 30-90 seconds per side).
  • Evenly place meat along the length of the split-top buns.
  • Drizzle melted butter on top for Connecticut Style (melt more butter in pan as needed). Lobster rolls are best eaten immediately while the bun is still warm. If Connecticut or Maine style, try some fresh lemon squeezed on top!

  • Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes.
  • Unfortunately due to California agriculture laws, Bite Into Maine is unable to ship lemons to California Residences. Any orders shipping to California will exclude lemons.
  • Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via 2-day will incur an additional $20 charge or $35 for Overnight Shipping. Sorry guys!
