Modjeskas: Legendary Caramel Covered Marshmallows

The Bauer family of Louisville, Kentucky are the originators of these renowned caramels. Originally named, “Caramel Biscuit”, Modjeskas are a soft and delicious confection with a creamy marshmallow center hand dipped into a rich homemade caramel.

They were invented in 1889 and passed down in the Bauer family from generation to generation. Until Anna Bauer Satterwhite, the business had been passed down only to the Bauer sons. Under Anna’s stewardship, Modjeskas are still made the old fashioned way with heavy, pure and locally sourced ingredients.
