Housemade wavy noodles are crafted in house daily, and paired with a Tsuyu dipping sauce based on a concentration of slowly simmered chicken broth, with carefully selected shoyu, dried fish, vegetables, and seaweeds, to produce layers of umami richness, highlighted by the warm, spicy flavor of housemade chili oil!

This package serves 3 people and includes everything you need to make 3 bowls of Kara-Tsuyu Tsukemen Ramen:

  • 3 portions of Noodles (420g total)
  • 3 portions of Tsuyu Dipping Sauce (300ml)
  • 3 portions of Diced Kakuni Pork (120g total)
  • 3 portions of Bamboo Shoots (75g total)
  • Ra-Yu Chili Oil (15ml)
  • Shredded Nori Seaweed (2g)
  • Chili-Sesame Mix (15ml)
  • 3 AFURI Noodle Paper Cups (1000ml each)
  • 3 AFURI Tsuyu Paper Cups (520ml each)
  • 3 sets of AFURI Chopsticks

  • Soft-boiled egg

Noodles: Wheat Flour, Salt, Water
Tsuyu Dipping Sauce: Soy, Finfish, Chicken, Onions, Ginger, Sugar

Instructions / Storage

  • Ramen Kits ship frozen with ice packs
  • Ice Packs may thaw in transit
  • Upon arrival, place immediately in the freezer, fridge, or prepare
  • DO NOT Allow kits to come to room temperature
  • Maybe kept refrigerated for up to 2 days or frozen for up to 1 week

To Serve

Kara-Tsuyu Tsukemen Ramen

  • Defrost the bag of dipping sauce
  • Fill saucepot and stock pot with water and bring to a boil
  • Add bags of kakuni chashu pork and bamboo shoots to boiling water and cook for 2 minutes
  • Turn off heat and leave bags in the water until you are ready to serve
  • Add noodles to boiling water and stir vigorously with chopsticks; cook 3 minutes and 30 seconds (we recommend you use a timer for this step)
  • Strain noodles in colander
  • Rinse noodles in cold water, change the water 2-3 times until water is clear
  • Add ice for firmer noodles, stir, then drain
  • If you wish to serve warm heat the noodles before serving by rinsing in hot water, then drain again
  • Drain water from the noodles completely then set them aside
  • Pour portion of dipping sauce into each of the smaller tsukemen cups that have been provided.
  • Divide sesame-chili mix and ra-yu chili oil between each of the sauce bowls
  • Divide noodles evenly between each of the large ramen bowls (provided)
  • Add 1 bag of kakuni chashu pork and bamboo shoots to each noodle bowl
  • Garnish noodles with shredded nori
  • Enjoy!
